Page CXVI Hymns Update
I wrote a little while ago about a site that was offering some fresh arrangements of hymns. The site (PageCXVI) was offering one of their songs for free to download and then an album of seven songs to purchase.
Right now, the folks over at The Work of the People are offering the complete seven song album as a current freebie.
If you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, be sure too. If you enjoy the modernization of hymns, you will probably like these.
Friday Special: Worship Hymn Resource
If you’re a person that appreciates the value of the hymns and enjoys some of the new ways they are being written and recorded, then check out Page CXVI. They’ve redone and released a collection of seven hymns. I’ve heard some of them, and they are quite good.
Once you get there, they offer one of their songs for free download so you can check it out. If you like it, consider buying the whole album.
Sunday Setlist: 4/19/09
We began a new series this week that will take us through the book of 1 Peter. Many Christians live today as if the world were our final destination. We pour our life resources and energy into things that will barely last 50 years, let alone eternity. We frequently cave in to the old sinful desires. We sturggle to remain faithful in the midst of great suffering. We’ve lost sight of the glorious inheritance waiting for us.
God calls us to live as “strangers” in this world, spiritual sojourners that are just passing through. As children of the living God, our focus should be on eternity as we point people to the living Christ who paid it all for us. Our priorities and lifestyle should undergo a radical transformation.
