This is a great time of the year. We get to celebrate and remember the amazing mystery of God with us.

The season of Advent leading up to Christmas is a wonderful time for furthering our own spiritual journey and that of the congregation we’re part of. It’s also a great opportunity to draw new people into this life changing reality of the Gospel.

But sometimes, the story can, how shall I say it, get kind of old feeling when we’ve been engaged with it for a long time. Which is kind of unfortunate because it is an amazing wondrous story that has never been repeated. It is a story that signals the beginning of the ultimate redemption of mankind, and it is a story that many people still don’t know fully.

Or at all. Continue Reading…

This week’s creativity post is a video that I came across thanks to fellow blogger Shane Sooter. Shane produces and creates media and film with his team through City on a Hill Productions. On a regular basis, he’ll post creative church media pieces he discovers over at his blog for Church Media Monday.

Today’s video was done by a group called Spring of Life Youth telling the complete story of the Book of John (from the Bible) in three minutes.

I was a little skeptical that it was even possible, but they do a great job. Click though to check it out. Continue Reading…

If you been following me for a while, you know that I’m a big fan of time-lapse vidoes. Especially ones that feature the sky and space, clouds and stars. There is just something majestic about seeing the world God created in motion in a way we don’t often see with the human eye.

Today, I’ve got two great time lapse videos for you. Continue Reading…

What is one of the most commonly told Old Testament stories? What is this story that has captivated the imagination of children in Vacation Bible School and Children’s Church for generations? What story has the power to even draw adults into its narrative?

It was pretty cool.

Now people are making stop motion stories with all kinds of media. Continue Reading…

Here is the final episode of The Next Superhero. In this episode, Average Joe finds courage to face his fear of pepperoni.

This has been a great experience. It’s been a lot of work, and a great learning experience.

I’m thankful to all who have been a part of the production team.

You can watch all six episodes at The Next Superhero page.

Average Joe is back this week to learn about leadership. Even with the help of some ducks (and Master Eldo), will Joe be the leader he needs to be as a hero?

Thanks for watching!

For those interested in behind the scenes stuff, it’s amazing how much you don’t notice the sound of your environment (especially outdoors) until you don’t want those sounds around.

It’s great working with these team. We are working well together and (hopefully) having a good time together doing it.

Be sure to check out the other episodes…

Episode 1: Strength
Episode 2: Power
Episode 3: Courage
Episode 4: Diet
