Archives For Songs

This Sunday, as you gather for worship with your church, what is your desire?

In this song, Paul Baloche expresses what I hope is the desire of all of us.

As we are in Alabama candidating, looking for what God has next for our family, our desire is to be completely where God has for us. He has been with us each step of the way, and is even now making the way forward for us. Our commitment is to Christ and His bride for His glory. To just be where He has for us.

Lord, may we hear Your voice, live in obedience to You, and know the fullness of You in our lives.

What’s your prayer this weekend?

Despite my love/hate relationship with things like Twitter, I’ve discovered that it’s a great place to find out about other worship folks and new music.

Like this song from Matthew Reed.

Matthew is a singer, songwriter, and worshiper seeking to honor Christ with his music.

He released an EP earlier this year, and one of the songs on it was “Crash This Place.”

I have to admit that when I first heard the title, I was a little apprehensive as to whether or not I would like the song or style. Yes, I was developing preconceived ideas based solely on a title. Continue Reading…

On August 23, 2011, Christian artist Aaron Shust has a new album that is being released. This Is What We Believe [Amazon Mp3 | iTunes] is his fourth album.

Perhaps you’ve sung some of the songs he’s written in your worship services.

I actually attended college with Aaron at Toccoa Falls College, so it’s exciting to see the ministry that God is blessing Aaron with. I can affirm that the heart and devotion you see and hear in his music is a true reflection of who he is.

One of the songs from the new album is called My Hope Is in You. Check out the video below: Continue Reading…

[Song] Great I Am

June 17, 2011 — 2 Comments

Recently, thanks to the guys at All About Worship (be sure to check them out), I heard this new song by Jared Anderson called “Great I Am.”

Take a moment and listen to it and watch it.

What do you think?

One of worship leader/songwriter Brenton Brown’s latest songs is called “Joyful”. (Amazon link) It’s built on the base of the classic “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee.” It’s a great expression of the joy and worship we offer to Christ because He is the one who saves and forgives.

Recently, painter Scott Erickson painted a picture to go along with it and capture the joy of it.

On this Monday after Easter, be encouraged that Christ is risen, and because He is risen, we can place our faith, hope, trust, and joy in the truth of who He is and what He has done.

Enjoy the creativity and expression of worship.

Check this video from Northwood Church. It is from a live recording for a worship disc they have recently released. How fitting that Revelation Song be sung with many tribes and tongues.

When we arrive at eternity’s shore
Where death is just a memory and tears are no more
We’ll enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and we’ll sing
You’re beautiful

(Thanks, Chris)
